Private Villa Staff – Mallorca

The villa sleeps 12 guests but is not expected to be at full capacity at all times. The Chef is required to prepare the evening meal and the host will serve at the table, tidy and refresh living areas, bedrooms and bathrooms.

We expect each position to require approximately 40 hours a week plus/minus. You will take over from the daytime staff in the late afternoon and prepare the villa for the evening. The family enjoy relaxed family-style dinners and local cuisine including salads, BBQ and grilled meats, paella, fresh fish, seafood etc. There are no known dietary requirements, however, the client will advise on any necessary considerations ahead of each guest’s arrival.

The client has retained staff on the island for many years, with their evening staff retiring after 17 years with the family.

Accommodation – A self-contained casita is available a 2-minute walk from the villa and a car is provided.

Salary – Open and negotiable for the ideal candidates DOE

Working hours – Approximately 40 +/- per week. Five days per week

Days off – This role offers two days off per week

Responsibilities

Private Chef

• Shopping, provisioning/ordering
• Stock rotation of fridges and dry stores
• Budgets
• Menu planning
• Meal preparation of family meals, including 2 x small-bite canapés before dinner each evening
• Cleaning the kitchen areas and leaving them tidy for the morning staff

Villa Host

• Outdoor areas- tidying outdoor furniture and cushions
• Washing any glasses and organising items remaining from the day (sunglasses, sun lotions, pool towels, books and magazines etc)
• Preparing the dining table – polishing crockery, stemware and cutlery before setting the table and adding flowers from the garden when possible
• Preparing drinks and an evening cocktail for guests upon request
• Opening wine ahead of the meal to allow reds to breathe if needed
• Refresh bathrooms after clients have dressed for dinner (to do whilst they are eating)
• Refresh beds (straighten bed linen), hang towels, and do a general quick tidy-up
• Clear the dining table and leave it clean and ready for the morning staff to set up for breakfast
• Assist the Chef in the kitchen with clearing up if time allows

Key requirements

• Experience in a similar role (private household or yacht experience required)
• Right to work within the EU for the full season (5 months May-Sept)
• Supporting references
• DBS check (the agency can assist you if you do not hold one)
• Driving license essential
• A relaxed yet professional approach
• Experience working as a duo preferred
• Valid passport and health insurance to cover the season (or GHIC card if applicable)
