Domestic Couple – St James’s

You are required to maintain the property in excellent condition, ensuring it is ready for guests with limited notice.

When the Principals are in London, they will bring travelling staff with them to assist you with your duties.

An additional 2 housekeepers are employed on a permanent basis, along with a Butler/Chief of Staff, who travels between global residences owned by the Principals.

Housekeeping, laundry, table service and household maintenance are required, with travel expected to the South of France for 1 month each summer.

Those with wardrobe management experience would be a suitable fit for this role as you will be looking after an extensive wardrobe (including delicate and vintage fabrics), shoes, bags, accessories etc. All of which must be maintained and rotated each season with practised care.

The family hire a chef and chauffeurs when they are in residence, therefore the couple is not required to perform cooking or driving duties.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include the following:

• General housekeeping
• Laundry
• Arranging dry cleaning
• Packing for the Principals when they travel
• Managing a large wardrobe
• General household maintenance
• Seeing to basic repairs and advising the Butler of any larger maintenance issues
• Overseeing tradesmen and contractors
• Gatekeeping/ overseeing the general security of the residence
• Sweeping of pathways, outdoor areas, entrances
• Travelling to the South of France with the Principals for 1 month each summer

Key requirements

To be suitable for this role, you must be/have:

• Have a minimum of 5 years experience with a formal/royal household
• Have acute attention to detail
• Highly-organised
• Self-motivated and not require extensive direction
• Wardrobe management experience
• A DBS certificate issued this year
• Verifiable references
• Work well within a team
