Daily Housekeeper (part-time) – Chelsea
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced part-time Housekeeper for a client based in South West London. The employer is looking for an enthusiastic, cheerful and experienced individual to attend the property 5 mornings a week. The employer is in residence for about a third of the year and has additional homes in the UK and abroad. The London residence is a 5-bedroom townhouse close to public transport links.
Working hours consist of a 20-hour week. Required working hours are Monday – Friday 08.00-12.00 (weekend work may occasionally be required with advanced notice and time in lieu given).
Responsibilities
The Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that the employer’s home is kept to a high standard and runs smoothly including:
- Cleaning and tidying
- Preparing the house for family visits and guests
- Monitoring household supplies and shopping as necessary
- Assistance with cooking and food preparation as required (client travels with a private chef)
- Monitoring larder and freezer food supplies and shopping as necessary
- Laundry and clothes care: laundry and ironing, mending, organization of dry cleaning, shoe cleaning, keeping cupboards clean and tidy
- Packing and unpacking luggage for travel
- Occasional pet care
- Supervising any daily contractors: window cleaners, decorators, plumbers etc
- Responsible for updating the staff calendar with their days off, annual leave and any other relevant information.
- Updating databases and inventories when needed
- Any other appropriate duties commensurate with this role
Key requirements
- Previous experience working as a housekeeper for a UHNW private family
- A keen eye for detail and knowledge of housekeeping
- Hard-working, reliable, flexible, adaptable and self-motivated
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to spot what needs doing
- Organisation and time management skills
- Product, fabric and surface knowledge
