Housekeeper/Cook

The house is run in the style of a boutique hotel and requires a candidate with extensive experience. This is a new position and a wonderful opportunity for a candidate to make the role their own.

Candidates with considerable private household or superyacht experience would be of interest to the client. Attention to detail is paramount, making it a great role for someone who enjoys the small touches; lighting candles at dusk, evening turndown service, bedside waters etc.

The client is involved in the world of fashion, making it essential that applicants have a practised understanding of handling delicate fabrics and materials.

You will be cooking for the Principal and his two teenage children and must have a good level of experience preparing healthy cuisine. Meat is eaten on occasion, however, the family prefer fish, vegetarian and vegan dishes.

The family are informal, relaxed and welcoming. Ideal candidates will have a laid-back yet thoroughly professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping
• Laundry
• Family cooking (typically breakfast and dinner only – unless anyone is at home during the day and may need a light lunch)
• Hours – Monday-Friday approx 50 hours per week
• Packing for trips
• Preparing inventories
• Liaising with the family PA to ensure the daily smooth-running running of the household
• Preparing drinks and refreshments
• Welcoming guests
• Light errand running (post office, pharmacy, grocery shopping)
• Allergy info – No pets

• Private household and/or yacht experience
• Sharp eye for detail
• Self-motivated
• Highly discreet and confidential
• Able to welcome high profile guests and remain professional and discreet
• Knowledge of healthy cooking (only informal family cooking is required, the role does not require chef standard cooking skills)
• Able to remain professional when working in an informal environment
