Housekeeper/Cook – Chelsea

Fully negotiable|Chelsea, London|Permanent, Live-out

This role offers flexible hours with a warm and approachable young family based in Chelsea. The clients are hoping to recruit an individual who is looking for a long-term position in order to maintain a consistent home environment for their family. The salary is fully negotiable depending on experience, with the hours totalling approximately 30 hours per week (an increase in hours is possible for those looking for a minimum of 35 hours+).

The clients travel frequently during school holidays, both on vacation and to a secondary European residence. You will be encouraged to take time off during these periods. If you are willing to travel with the family, please make this clear at the interview stage.

Housekeeping: Your role will involve maintaining the home, handling all housekeeping duties, laundry, wardrobe care, and seasonal deep cleaning. You will also stock cleaning products, basic toiletries, and home essentials (tissues, dishwasher tablets, etc.).

Simple Family Cooking:

The family of three enjoys global cuisine, with a preference for Mediterranean-style dishes, British classics, and simple family favourites, including salads, grilled meat and fish, pasta, vegetable options, and roast chicken. We are therefore looking for a confident family cook who is happy to cook the evening meal and organise a fridge/freezer filler or two for your days off when requested. Should the clients be home during the day, a light lunch of soup, a salad or a light snack may be needed. We are looking for a confident family cook to create simple family meals. The role does not require a chef.

The Principals will discuss weekly menus with you in advance. Groceries can be ordered online and sourced from local butchers and fishmongers. Waitrose and Whole Foods supermarkets are just a few minutes from the client’s home.

Childcare: All applicants must be child-friendly and have worked in similar environments with young families in previous posts. There may be occasions when you need to assist with a nursery drop-off or watch the Principal’s young child for a short period. The client is a stay-at-home mother, so any childcare support would fall under ‘mother’s help’.
