Live-in Cook/House Manager
We are looking for a Live-in Cook for clients with properties in Maida Vale & Buckinghamshire. Candidates must be hands-on with housekeeping duties and support the housekeeping staff when required.
The clients have long-standing staff and are looking for a candidate who will offer longevity.
Favoured cuisines are classic British, French and Mediterranean.
The role offers accommodation on site. Your rota is based on a 5-day week with Monday and Tuesday off.
Dinner parties are expected later in the year when the Principals hope to entertain guests at home once restrictions allow.
The role would suit a Cook with a confident repertoire of family-style cooking. We are not looking for a chef with fine dining experience, simple dishes using quality ingredients is preferred.
Candidates must hold a driving licence as you are required to travel between residences in London & Buckinghamshire and you will need your own transport when shopping/provisioning in Buckinghamshire.
Responsibilities
- Family cooking for two Principals plus any guests
- Catering for dinner parties
- Shopping & provisioning
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen at both residences
- Stocktakes/rotation & maintaining fridges/freezers and dry stores
- Accounts
- Assisting the housekeeper
- Working with Principals to establish weekly menus
Key requirements
- Experience as a Cook
- Flexible approach
- Easy-going yet highly professional manner
- A high level of dedication/able to offer the client longevity
- Confident with flavoursome, uncomplicated family-style cuisine
- Driving licence essential
