Private Chef – Ascot

Fully negotiable|Ascot, Berkshire|Permanent

British clients in Ascot with a passion for global cuisine are looking to employ an experienced private chef several days a week. It is possible that additional days could be introduced after a short time if that suited both sides. Classic French, Modern British, Italian and Asian dishes are all favourites. We are looking to recruit a chef with an impressive repertoire of international cuisine, with a love of introducing their clients to new culinary experiences and global flavour profiles.

All applicants must have extensive experience as a private chef and bring a relaxed yet professional approach to the kitchen. The clients are informal and are looking for a chef with whom they can discuss menus and ideas. The kitchen is very much the heart of the home, where employers and guests alike will venture and take an interest in what is being prepared.

This is an ideal long-term opportunity for any chef who enjoys private service. There will be some entertaining, but it is rarely more formal than hosting family and friends.

The exact work days are flexible, making this a highly suitable post for any chef with an existing client base.

Salary is fully flexible depending on experience.

There are no known dietary requirements other than for the chef to be aware of cholesterol overall.

Responsibilities

  • Catering for clients, family and friends
  • Typically catering for two adults with notice given for guests
  • You will be typically required to cook dinner only unless the Principals are at home over lunchtime, where soups, salads and light bites should be prepared
  • Fridge fillers on request (typically soups and simple meals that can be easily reheated)
  • Utilising the best local produce, cooking seasonally where possible
  • Avoiding too much repetition
  • Introducing the clients and their guests to new flavours and culinary experiences
  • DBS check required (please get in touch with the agency if you need any assistance)
  • Working with the Head Gardener to curate a seasonal and abundant kitchen garden
  • Utilising the pizza oven (using homegrown tomatoes and herbs during the summer months)
  • Making preserves and pickles in the autumn (the client has plans for a productive kitchen garden)
